Weekly Update for Sunday, May 22, 2016

Graduation dinner: this Sunday after the Morning Worship Service. We encourage everyone to stay, even if you are visiting or new to our church. We would like to get to know you and welcome you to our church family.
We will not have a Sunday evening service next week, as it is Memorial Day Sunday. Families are encouraged to spend this time together.
Indian Creek summer camps will begin the first week in June. There is information at the Welcome Center.
We are calling a Special Business Meeting to be held Sunday evening, June 5th at 6:00 PM. This will be for the sole purpose of considering a proposal from the trustees regarding a new security system. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall. Bring finger foods and desserts for a time of fellowship before the business meeting.

Trustees meeting: this Sunday, following the morning service.
Official Board meeting: this Sunday at 4:30 PM.
Graduate Recognition: May 22, in the Morning Worship service, with a dinner afterward to honor the graduates.

There will be no evening service this Sunday, so that families may gather to celebrate Mother’s Day.
There are flowers in the narthex this Sunday for our mothers.

Mother-Daughter Tea: May 9, 6:30 PM. See Sharon Payne for further information.
ROC club Open House and “Thank You” dinner: May 11. The Open House is 5-7 PM, dinner for kids and their families is 5:15 PM. The church is also invited to come meet the kids and their families.
Faith & Fellowship class and Tree House kids will have a joint fishing outing/cookout May 14, 4:00 PM at the Place family property in Dugger. Bring your lawn chairs, fishing poles, roasting sticks, etc!

Mother-Daughter Tea: May 9, 6:30 PM. Debbie Martindale will be the guest speaker. Please sign up at the east bulletin board. Men are also encouraged to sign up for serving, clean-up, etc. See Sharon Payne for further information.
“Thank You” dinner: May 11, 5:15 PM for the ROC volunteers, also for the kids & their families. The church is invited as well to make them feel welcome and show appreciation for all the workers we had this year. Also, we’ll have an open house from 5-7 PM for potential new students or volunteers for next year’s program.

Roots Youth Group will be taking a break for the summer. We’ll be back this fall with AWANA.
We’ll be working on the playground Tuesday Apr. 26 at 6:30 PM and again Saturday Apr. 30 at 9:00 AM. Please bring work gloves.

The ROC club needs medium size flower pots for an upcoming project. Please bring them to the church or the ROC.
VBS: June 13-18, 6:00-8:30 PM. There is a sign- up sheet for helpers at the Welcome Center. Watch for a meeting coming soon! Also, please bring clean gallon milk jugs to the church.

The C.E. board would like to honor graduates this year. There will be a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center for those from our church graduating from High School or college.
Sarah Mission Circle meeting: April 4, 1:00 PM in the Library.
VBS will take place June 13-18 this year, 6:00-8:30 PM. Please be in prayer as to how God could use you in this ministry. See the sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center for available openings for helpers. Watch for a brief meeting coming soon! Jennifer asks that we save gallon milk jugs. They need to be washed out and brought to the church. They will be used for VBS caves!
Trustee meeting: April 10 following the Morning Worship Service.

Easter Sunday: Sunrise Service at 6:30 AM, followed by a big breakfast, Sunday School and Morning Worship Service. There will be no Sunday Evening service.
There will no service this Sunday evening so that families may gather today.
Ladies Bible Study: Mar. 31, 12:30 PM in the Alpha room. (7 weeks) Playground Set-up: Apr. 2, 9:00 AM (weather permitting). If you are willing to help, bring your work gloves and tools if you have them.
